Some guys were pissing about at the back during a lecture on the slave trade. My Professor brought them up to the front of class and 'sold' them off to us. Never seen anything so humiliating. They didn't piss around again.

I can't imagine how they must feel hearing and seeing those protesters. I don't ever want to experience that level of hatred.
As a counter to this. At my hair salon at Canary Wharf my stylist was saying she spotted 2 clients on TV being foul about refugees in the Britannia hotel. She said if you're from Syria, Iraq or Sudan why wouldn't you want to escape to a better life. Made my lip wobble.
I love that.
There will be much disappointment felt by some that we don't all condone such hatred.

I said this to a friend a few months back. They are a staunch Lab activist of the centre left. They pushed back a bit, but not much. It is incompetence. They weren't ready for government. I can't believe they weren't ready, but here we are.

No, I want the very opposite of what you describe, but Labour are not good at the Comms and seem to give up the space to Reform to spout their nonsense. I want to hear more about what my government is doing, not what some other Party might do at some unknown time in the future.

Throughout my career in policy/campaigning I've tried to emphasise the difference in local and national government and why local elections are vital. But on a very basic level just focusing on getting people to actually vote would be great. Make it compulsory but with a 'none of the above' option.
Why is @BBCRadio4 #WATO leading with Reform UK again! I'm sick of the prominence they get in the media, largely based on opinion polls rather than detailed policy successes or evidence of their successful implementation where run local councils.

I would agree, small airports are my preference. However as a wheelchair user who needs assistance boarding, the small airports are not equipped. So frustrating as LC is 20 minutes away.

As a history nerd living in East London, the area fascinates me. Ever changing with each new community. Over centuries each have left their particular footprints in the architecture, street names, trades etc. I'm from Belfast and a more recent incomer, and agree on benefits of studying our history.
