If they play a live service game or two they may not HAVE time to play other games.
This dude played fortnite (which i thought was for kids) and COD so youre probably right. Still feels weird to me. His idea of what video games are is so radically different than mine
That's two battle passes to grind. Dude has a part time job with that alone.
Youre right. I did one month of battlepass on diablo 4 and it sucked ass. One of the most hollow gaming experiences ive ever had
It absolutely drains the joy out of any game they get put in. I am the type of person that WILL buy one if available and also the type of person who MUST then optimize their in-game time around completing it because if I miss anything I'll just never play the game again.
Gross, but absolutely same for me. Completely sucks the fun out when i have an annoying checklist im demonically compelled to complete for absolutely no reason
What @probgobl.in said. I've pretty much given up on MMO's of any stripe: they all devolve into feeling like work; and I do not play games to work. They just stopped being fun or even innovative. It's just expensive crap.
I straight out asked him if hes ever played a single player game and he said 'no theyre boring'.
could wax poetic here about things like the death of PCs, the reshaping of consoles into unitasker PCs, and the fact that if you want to interact with your friends thats one of the few ways left. idk. like im not defending their take but thats what pops in my head
Yeah i think its a lot this. Im old and i really dont know what its like to grow up without access to third spaces/offline spaces to just hang out
its genuinely tragic how the only thing left is Spending Money Somewhere, like as the primary goal. sure id spend 5 bucks at the shell for a pack o smokes and 2 gallons of gas and a mt dew before the evening's fun, but that wasnt the point of it. we were the last lucky ones that could roam the town
Even just hanging out at the mall. The mall near my house has security guards now that dont let kids/teens just hang out there. Fucking bizarre.
yeah i go to the mall annually for my BOGO shoe shit and its really weird now. like it feels like a 3d projection of a mall or something. it looks the same, but it's not the same
I remember when I was young, in my early 20's confident I knew things....one thing stands out as I look back: I was a fucking idiot, and really didn't know shit. There were times I wouldn't have been able to find my ass with a map, a flashlight and a compass.
This is both the blessing and the curse of Being 20
Indeed it is.
Unfortunately that’s the case, even for people in their early 30s. Those games are rather addictive, I guess. They don’t grab me though, seems like a waste of time.
There only dad games because they last the test of time as opposed to live service games that last a few months of you're lucky
Sorry my thumbs are out of control today, auto correct isn't helping either lol
