I can't speak for any state but mine (WI), but it just would not be feasible to rig an election statewide. Our elections are decentralized and there are nearly 1900 municipal clerks overseeing elections. In a close election a precinct might be compromised, but not enough to change state outcome.
The risky step is not the voting location. It’s the aggregation of the votes using the internet to send local results. Remember Trump telling a crowd that Musk was really good at computers, especially voting machines? And that a Starlink unit blew up after the election? 2024 was sketchy, at best.
The internet is not used to send local results. Votes are physically brought to the clerk's office and physical and digital numbers must match in several different places, confirmed by multiple people. I can't guarantee no tampering, but I can guarantee it couldn't have happened as laid out here.

As I said, I cannot guarantee there has been no tampering, and we know for fact that 2016 was tampered with by Russia. But it does not occur by a single person just changing a number on the internet somewhere, as the poster implied.
The only way to verify the results is for every district to use #HandMarkedPaperBallots (except for disabled voters) and those ballots to be audited for every election, in every district. Physical ballots should be stored for several years afterwards. Otherwise, elections will continue to be STOLEN.
WI votes also are tabulated and canvassed at the local precincts, generally. And from what I understand from the election officials that I've talked to, the machines are not hooked up to the internet and we have a paper trail. Again, I can only speak for WI. I don't think our state was rigged.
I can confirm as an election worker from a swing state (not WI) that our machines are also not internet accessible. I can't speak for the process beyond the clerk's office, but there are multiple physical safety nets & cross-checks done by multiple people both at precinct and clerk office as well.

No. That's not how it works at all. UBI would force employers to pay more to make work appealing because they can no longer rely on desperation. This increases wages and payroll taxes, so employers end up paying it entirely. UBI is a wealth tax on employers that can't be dodged.
I think raising the federal minimum wage would have the same effect of lighting a fire under employers. IMO the problem today is that every job - no matter what - should give you enough to support yourself. The stigma of "oh its just a highschool job" lets them get away with wage theft.

This is easy. Whatever it takes to qualify for an apartment at median rent in your city is a "livable wage" This would put minimum wage in Los Angeles around $6,600 per month.
YES!!!! But why stop there? We need a MINIMUM wage of $100k so we can all live comfortably. $6,600 in LA is far too little to live comfortably. That barely covers rent downtown in the nice area that I live in.
Those businesses relying on exploitation will have to close. But the owners will get UBI so they'll survive as long as they haven't gone into massive debt sustained by poverty wages.

I believe that there should be an even tax rate. If a poor person pays a percentage even if it means $1 it is significant to the person. We see these people pay $60K for a handbag which it is obscene meaning that they can pay thousands in taxes without being an issue.

I somewhat agree but $100K is kind of low; minimum wage should be somewhere near 100k per year. A typical ER visit can easily cost $100K. Maybe a million dollar max and 100k minimum?
But that is never going to happen. The best we can hope for is a Progressive agenda that takes care of people by providing a working wage and affordable housing. America will never go for redistribution of wealth. We have to try for stuff that is do-able. A Progressive agenda will be hard enough.

That has been tried with things like the Green Party. What happens is they end up siphoning votes from Democrats, and ensuring that Republicans win. We technically have multiple parties, but the only two that end up gaining traction are Republicans and Democrats. It's easier to work within.
