The clearest picture of corporate greed in this country is CEO-to-worker pay ratios. At the 100 lowest-paying major US companies, CEO pay averaged $17.2M in 2024. Median worker pay at these companies was just $35,570. That’s a ratio of 632 to 1. How can anyone defend this?

the beauty of rich successful businesses should be their contributions to society, employees, productivity, taxes, philanthropy, make all the money you can but pay, dont get rich by paying employees the bare minimum and pay less taxes than those working to make them rich

Compare the Median Worker pay to each county's AMI (Average Median Income) & the difference is staggering. In Santa Clara County, this is less than 30% AMI. In 2021, there were only 24 available units for every 100 people needing housing. Low worker pay is keeping people in poverty or homeless.

I won't stop fighting and boycotting until every single one of them is in a tax bracket where they actually pay taxes like the rest of us. They laugh at us while thinking we have no options, we'll flock to their sales, and they continue to own our spending habits. I refuse. I flatly refuse.

Mike: DO SOMETHING. Fight them now @michael859.bsky.social

They absolutely will never pay as high a percentage tax as anyone making less than &130,000 a year, and that doesn't include SS and Medicare. Example: Warren Buffett pays himself $10 million a year and that is what he is taxed on. Net worth: $145 billion, which grows by billions every year.

It would take a lot more than that. We would also need a Congress that isn’t poisoned by gerrymandering and endless corporate campaign donations. Oh - and a SCOTUS that didn’t ok gutting the Voting Rights Act and pouring corporate money into our elections. All 3 branches are FUBAR right now.

Sure, but you need to take into account those long CEO hours.. I mean, if a CEO worked 7 days a week and worked 20 hour days they’d work 3.5 times as much as a full-time employee, so they’d only have to be a mere 180x more productive for this to make sense.

WE (french left) advocate for 1:20 If a basic worker is paid 2K€ a month (they mostly aren't, as of today), 1:20 still gives the CEO a 40K a month. NO ONE, and I say NO ONE, needs more. Never has, never will. Whoever claims they need more is a degenerate. Yes, I use their own terminology.

The thing is also: no one, absolutely no one, who gets more than 40K/month cannot be replaced by someone who happily accepts the 40K and does the very same job the same as good. Normal proletarians ARE being replaced to lower their wages, why not the same for expensive CEOs...

Scott Bessent says tariff revenue (taxes paid by Americans) will go to pay down the national debt. Oddly, a big part of the debt and deficit is due to tax cuts for the wealthy, especially billionaires. Kinda makes a neat little circle. That’s a very elegant con. Newman and Redford would be proud.
