I realize news outlets are sensitive about defamation lawsuits but this is a pretty clear case. He’s flatly lying about recent history if he says he’s not an anti-vaccine activist. There’s video!

"Incorrectly denies" is such a fucking wild phrase. What a fucking hellscape mainstream journalism is today.
Believe me, in this matter today’s journalism is the same as 60 years ago. Neither Walter Cronkite nor print journalists ever dare call government officials liars about Vietnam, though they definitely were.
"Journalism." US Journalists are basically prostitutes who will write anything for a paycheck
Ya say this responding to an independent US journalist that is dead broke because he doesn't just work for anyone. Also, nothing wrong with sex work.
Don’t insult sex workers like that!
So it's not 'definately a lie', because, maybe, he really doesn't remember saying it?
One hunnert percent.
Trump has made "lies" a non-useful phrase, because for his side, facts don't matter and saying something is a "lie" is just an assertion about him not liking it, not anything factual. So we have to keep reminding Trumpers that their Fearless Leaders are speaking actually untrue stuff.
"lies about" was right there.
They can't say "lies" and "liar" can they?
Do you remember that scene in Watership Down when they go to the creepily prosperous warren with the Nazi bunnies and they could never ask "where" anybody or anything was?
i was talking about the book for my podcast and my friend told me to look up the 70s animation image of woundwort. i’d never seen it before and managed to catch myself on camera experiencing the horror in real time!
That stuff damaged me
terrifying, even upon first seeing it at 39 years old
Wait, are you talking about Efrafa or Cowslip’s warren where Bigwig gets caught in the snare?
Sorry! I misread you! Cowslip's warren. I can't remember what it was called
That’s not at the Nazi warren, that’s the dystopian one. But yes.
I swear this question makes sense if you've read the book and I didn't have a stroke
I remember it. Or maybe both of us had a stroke.
Well I'm in good company at least
lotta ifs there, brooke. lotta ifs
I always know I've found a fellow traveler when I can mutter "this is like 90% Watership Down," and they nod appreciatively and we high five over the shared important knowledge and then everyone claps
More like you high Fiver with them...
there's something very queer about the warren this evening
I'm clapping right now!
Those were more like lotus eater bunnies—kinda the Brave New World warren? The 1984 warren and its leader turn up later in the story as the Big Bad
I read it as an early stage of fascism - all the rabbits went through kind of were. That was the disinfo stage
All of that British postwar fantasy stuff dealt with fascism and its patterns one way or another though
Was a movie ever made of watership down?
Oh god Oh god you just set off a million childhood nightmares of 1970s animated rabbits
I’m so sorry to everyone affected by my ignorance 😔
Yes! Several. Two were creepy and uncanny and not very good and the other one permanently damaged me emotionally
Everyone who has seen that one is also emotionally damaged
God. Same but that's nothing on the final scene. I couldn't stop crying
Damn it, Brooke. The bunny fight still messes me up.
Recently got the new graphic novel as a gift. I got to the scene with the wire and had to put it down, memories of the film were too much.
For example lol www.reddit.com/r/horror/com...
I think I'm ready to watch it and get nightmares all over again
Yep, that “never ask where somebody is” warren is a dysfunctional, decadent society built on artificial prosperity, denial, distraction etc. The later-encountered Efrafa warren is a fully consolidated authoritarian state built on militarism, secret police, and deprivation—a never-ending emergency
Yes!
*wistfully gestures@thread* my ppl! (who never forgot the allegorical bunnies)🖤
The constant lying appears to either be contagious or a prerequisite to be in pedofelon34's orbit. Either way, it is destructive and hurts millions.
This guy beheads roadside whales with his bare hands , all while fighting off brain worms. He is tough. He has more brains than his uncle did, especially after the assassination.
Don't give them a pass due to potential lawsuits. We all know now that they are happy to pay millions to settle nuisance lawsuits. Remember when news organizations really stood up to this nonsense? Some of us still remember Watergate & the Pentagon Papers.
Also, last time I heard, the "public figure" defense was still available. Motion to Dismiss would be granted in short order.
They should be calling him a pro-death activist - from vaccines to medication to health for disabled and underprivileged, women, children and minorities - he’s against it all.
'incorrectly denies' joins 'economical with the truth' as a new euphemism for lying
Guessing the host didn’t challenge his assertions
We fled the destruction in search of safety, only to find a pain greater than war... My only daughter can't walk, and every glance in her eyes is an indescribable pain.💔😭
😳
Most media outlets have always struggled with bad faith actors that use mott and bailey arguments. It's like Charlie Brown and that football. They always fall for it.
I wish him a very multi-antibiotic resistant infection, preferably chlamydia or gonorrhea, but VRSA would do and a tetanus
