He’s only pretending for the sake of the Americans. As long as they think a deal is coming, they will be more predictable.

It’s time for the media to stop pretending like he is not working with him. Is everyone this naive or is it just no one can conceive of a white middle aged man selling us out?

There is no deal to be had with a fascist regime. It only lends credibility to them. We are better off forgetting about making a deal and chasing the markets the US will not be able to supply because they need their production for their own market. Faster to pivot trade than build capacity.

But Canada must string US along to buy time to rewire out trade networks away from US. Ideology is not a good guide for tactics. Never be frank and upfront when you try to defeat a crook. If pretension gets what you ultimately want, do it.

Yeah, that's not what is going on. Canadian businesses don't WANT that, they want the govt to give Trump what he wants so THEY don't have to worry about paying a little more and making a little less. They aren't pushing to move away from the US, they're pushing to KOWTOW to the US.

That Canadian businesses’ problem. They don’t set policies.
