Climate action is so palpable to the breeders. Population control is not.
slight detail : climate models don't predict this region to become drier but wetter with global warming. So climate action could actually increase the likelihood of such droughts ...
the idea Canadians can do much more than #BRICS is hilarious Our best chances are expanding train services, opening a wildfire fighting college, & businesses that move homes from coastlines We blew air up our arses for decades howling BS about how Canadians were ‘the WORSTEST!’ per capita
What did it get us? Angry Tories who decided to believe US BS than listen to Science We screamed at them, they tuned out Even #DavidSuzuki cashed in the chips on trying to scream our way into rational policies, behaviour & attitudes Our psychology was stupid: we wanted to sound *important*
Yeah , Nova Scotia burns , my lawn is dead , watering takes four hours so perennials can live , trees are shedding their leaves .. in August. Shrubs are dying.. it’s changed and we need to do more.
Ottawa is “only” abnormally dry? Every lawn in my neighbourhood crispy brown.
Right, so imagine how bad it is for us out here in the west. It's a crisis.
Definitely not diminishing the issues in other places.
The lawns in my neighbourhood in Toronto only stopped being crispy brown a week or so ago after finally getting some rain. I guess Ottawa hasn’t gotten that rain yet :(
We got a little bit last night. And some for tomorrow and Friday in the forecast. So we’ll see. At least the drought might have made it tougher on the Japanese beetle scourge.
Side Q: is that Meteora in your photo?
Luckily Quebec is not in the thick of it.
