Some twelve years ago, I had a dinner party for a friend who had never seen "Star Trek II," so we watched "Space Seed" and then the film. I made lemon and grapefruit marshmallows for dessert, to look like TOS food cubes. They were fun! A *giant* pain in the ass to make. But fun to eat.
Why not buy a bag of them and cut them?
Because the point was to make them.
I have done that in the past with this sort of thing and definitely given up on it in the face of effort vs reward but if the misery of the challenge is the goal then fair enough.
I like coming up with marshmallow ideas, and having my custom flavored marshmallows done, but the middle part... well it's not difficult or anything but it's a pain and a half. I still do it a couple times every holiday season with a few different flavors each round, but it A Task™️
