As someone who never even engages with story at all - how do you even do that? they don’t really make it clear there’s a story at all for new players. Also; why don’t they have books? i would read novels for each set. 40k has got it right in that regard.

mtgstory.com every set since 2018 has at least 10,000 words of story, distributed as web fiction. i agree they should print it, but these are the novels.

whoa!! they should put cards in boosters with more direct story tidbits and point you towards this stuff with a QR code. i bet almost no new players naturally find this stuff. thanks!!

and not to belabor the point, but it is even on about 5 or so cards each set. check out the info at the very bottom of the card here I show all this to say, it's obviously a huge issue and you're not alone in not knowing how to get Magic story. there's just no easy way to get it out besides books.
