Had you considered that your unhappiness may be lightened, when you see how many really good, decent people there are on Bluesky? And if there are so many good, caring people on Bluesky, then don't you think that it's likely that a good portion of the community are the same?

For the first break-in yeah, but it became evident that everyone knew who was in my house and their main concern was whether I'd be involving the police. For the second break in it became lesser. The police returned a single broken object to me but refused to tell me who had it and gave me no...

avenue for charges. The third time it started to feel routine. I'm up to five now. I believe there are good people in this world but I doubt any of them are local. And I know people do these kinda things either because of desperation or frustration or their own issues but... 5 times. Five.

Do what you need to to get them gone. Whatever legal ways. In the mean time interview people looking for a place to live. Get reliable references. Don't know how long it takes to have legal things done there.

Can you get any type of police report that would show who they got it from?

They refuse to tell me. They don't want me enacting my own justice, I've declared to them that's my intent since they will not act. I have a string of incident numbers that's all.

Request the report the cops wrote. For the exact thing that went on.

I was wondering whether there's someone who could unofficially provide you with suggestions as to how to stop the break-ins? I'm thinking that you've got nothing to lose? Perhaps a community leader, or even a policeman/policewoman?

Five times is crazy. I don't know what kind of work you do, or whether you own the house, but the break-ins seem unlikely to stop If it is a small community, then it is likely that everyone knows what's happening. I assume that the police know too. Are the offenders children?

There's a lotta social politics here. I'm in a remote indigenous community and I'm not indigenous. The police believe it's kids but that's just a rote response at this point. "These kids are clever so there's not much we can do" They're not gonna stop there's no reason to. Until nothing is left.

Security cameras. Put them in areas that will catch them.

I have been thinking Maybe the thefts aren't targeting you as an individual, but because of the position you hold? Maybe they don't want any "outsiders" in their community? Or one of their friends applied for your job? Maybe they are envious of you? Your skills & education? Take care

I thought that it may be an indigenous community, that's why I was wondering about asking a respected elder for advice?
