41% already did when they refrained from voting.
41% already did when they refrained from voting.
Imagine if EVERY US citizen whose vote was not counted - filed a complaint and requested a recount www.usa.gov/voter-fraud
Would you say America is one of the more violent countries in the world?
I don’t believe they refrained this election tbh. I think things were made to appear this way- it’s why Trump is in a hurry to be inaugurated prior to 1/20
Painful lesson coming their way
And they hate it when you point that out
Exactly
Well maybe this will be the “LESSON of our lifetime!”
If all the polls got closed down in your area & you don't have a car. It's not a choice. Republicans have engaged in voter suppression & racial gerrymandering for decades. www.pbs.org/newshour/nat...
He won on thin margins. Obama won by much larger margins. Reagan even more than that. Trump can't even carry the Republicans down ballot. Let's not make more of this than what it is.
I agree. Dictators only have as much power as the people around them allow them to have.
I admire your positivity but half the country doesn’t care if we have a fascist in power or not and half of the other half wants a fascist in power.
And the Democratic voters failed to show up during midterms to help support Obama and Biden and they failed to vote against Trump the first time and the third time. If Dems voters can't consistently back their side why do you think anyone else will revolt against GOP?
GOP won the Senate and the House will be within two seats. He carried down ballot just fine.
that's by a fucking hair. a LOT of ballots read "Blue, except for trump" which I still find statistically weird
Dems won many statewide races and ballot initiatives in states that Trump carried, which says a lot
Yeah, it says that people won't vote for a black woman or when Dems actually push progressive policies. Or that a lot of ppl were just putting Trump on the ballot not doing down ballot races. Probably both.
For the amount of abortion initiatives that got passed, yet Harris lost, it tells you there were a lot of split ticket voters which makes no sense unless they just hate liberals that much, or a lot of males showed up specifically to vote for trump.
2018 midterms
2018 ppl showed up to stop Trump. Both Obama and Biden lost Congress in their second halves of their terms due to low turnout.
By a hair.
Still did though.
My original point still stands. Not sure what you're arguing.
A victory is a victory. Democrats are apathetic, generally.
My original point remains.
So does mine
No, you just can't follow a conversation. You should work on comprehension bc at no point did anyone say he didn't win. But go off, I guess?
I’m not going off. I’m sorry.
Yes. You're sorry.
Dooooom give up be paassssssssive
Not compared to the power he had after 2016. When Trump was 1st inaugurated in Jan. 2017, the GOP at that point had the most power that they'd got in DC since the 1920s. Also, whites & blacks voted more for Kamala than Biden. It was Hispanics had the huge shift to the Right. GOP is a powder keg.
Well..to be fair...it was mostly men. But yes..you are correct
Democratic voters showed up just fine in 2018, 2020 and 2022. I don't really get why they didn't this time. But I'm sure they will again. Assuming Republicans don't cancel elections, 2026 and 2028 won't be pretty for them.
2022 turnout was down from 2018 and midterms. www.brookings.edu/articles/new...
Yes, but that was supposed to happen. It was the midterms. And yet it wasn’t nearly as brutal as 2018, 2014, 2010 or 2006 had been for the in-party. (One reason, I think, for fact that Biden tried to cling on, which actually was desastrous for the Dems.)
Conservative voters show up just the same amount of people in midterms as they do on the presidential elections. It's Democrats that don't show up. If Democrats were consistent with their voting habits, our presidents wouldn't lose power two years into their term and we'd get more accomplished.
Dems tune out for midterms in general. Which means democratic presidents usually only have two years to get any legislative agenda passed, and the Republicans can spend two years getting more entrenched. This is a problem
True. But this pattern is slowly changing. Dem voters start to recognize how important down-ballot and midterms and even off-year elections are. And: 2018 was a desaster for Trump. I’m banking on 2026 being the same. It’s what keeps me going.
Yeah they show up in midterms to stop the other guy but not to help our own side.
How can Republicans cancel elections? I understand the dread, but they are run by the states so I don’t understand the logistics. Leftists need to learn to show up every time, that is the only way we will shift the Overton window in the direction we want.
Maam they won the white house, senate , house. I DONT believe there is a way for them to win more.
You must be slow.
