But it’s still up on a bunch of other federal websites, including the LOC own photos of the original copies, so if they were trying to scrub it, they did a very bad job. Not to mention that it’s available in many, many other places they can’t touch, like the paper copy on my bookshelf

I don't think they were trying to scrub the text of the constitution. I think they were trying to scrub the annotations and the constitution page was collateral damage. Much like an arsonist who manages to light his car on fire in the process.

That's mostly because anybody with the sense god gave the common turnip would understand that changing the text of the constitution was going to go viral. Granted that's very much assuming facts not in evidence. But at this point I'm wonder what changes were made that we haven't noticed.
