I think people are including eg model trains, model armies, scale models, stuff like that. like stamp collecting it benefits from a "oh like my grandpa loved" association benefit among normies

stamps are stereotypically dull, while model trains enjoy consistently great pr. one of the sopranos got into model trains! it's a little artsy and implies they're loaded, it enjoys the "eccentric" higher-status coding bump. dats my take
