the irony of having to walk around a whole block from the red line stop because of construction closing sidewalks while trying to get to an exhibit about the bygone golden age of indiana transit (😭)
lots of mentions of the Illinois railroad museum in union, where you can ride the interurban cars. also want to shout out the PA trolley museum for having streetcars you can ride as well
the genuine love for the south shore line in these interviews makes me so happy. i feel like if the interurbans were restored to their former glory they would be such a quintessential part of hoosier culture. like yes! we need public transit merch! it's OUR line!
i imagine that if, as a kid growing up in columbus, i could get to indy without driving, i would've discovered my love for public transit much much earlier
