my favorite example of this is phineas and ferb. the creators wanted humor that would engage both adults and children, and even though some jokes are aimed for older people the plot and characters are engaging for all ages. just such a well-done show that ive been watching for over a decade

in addition, ebikes allow us to get up to speeds faster than an acoustic bike, which makes it safer to ride on the road in car traffic. this also enables longer commutes, making suburban sprawl less of a barrier to car-free living. don't mean to pile on just wanted to provide my 2 cents
acoustic bikes are great, but to an extent. in very hilly areas, they would not be able to replace cars as primary mode of transport because normal commuters (me) don't have the physical ability to get bikes up steep inclines. i wish i did, but i (and many others) have bad knees

re food deserts. currently in the exurbs of indianapolis and for some reason Hy-Vee is opening a store in zionsville, which already has 2 Krogers, 2 Aldis, and a Meijer. meanwhile, just looking at the data, marion county itself is full of food deserts despite being the most populous county
ill also echo my spiel that transit isn't meant to be profitable, and that it pays for itself in positive externalities. not having to worry about fares opened up a lot of doors for me as a student. it was freeing, and what got me into the urbanism sphere in the first place
another point a lot of these arguments overlook is that free fares eliminate means testing. im definitely not qualified to talk about why thats a good thing but it's very much a good thing.
