I wish it were! Carney, Canada's Prime Minister has a PhD in Reaganomics and sounds really smart. He's been pushing for a 15% reduction in overall public spending, which includes a massive increase in military spending, over the next 3 years. I'd say he's going full DOGE.
He's a Liberal, the equivalent to a US Democrat. Fortunately we have a parliamentary system, so now that our 'Trump', Poilievre, is back in Parliament he'll be more likely to work with the centrist Bloc Quebecois, New Democrat, and Green parliamentarians. We don't have elected left politicians.
Anyway, my point is that Carney is passing Trumpist legislation whilst being not quite as right as the alt right.
