I think it's integral to the McSystem we live in. Elbows up hasn't really targeted foreign fast food, foreign discount department stores or online retail. People gain wealth through exploiting workers, and locals are taught in school to say no.
Canadian workers have more in common with the foreign workers than the cheap Bougies who hire them. I want more enforcement on employers who abuse the system, and new opportunities for their victims.

The big argument for hockey players making millions is compensation for loss of future income because of injury risk. So people doing other backbreaking work should be compensated accordingly.
Think through your statement. A labourer has to work around 50 years. That means their body has to work for about 50 years. If we do work that is harder on our bodies, we need to be compensated for it. I'd love to see data on disability rates in TFW after we break their backs on the cheap & dispose

Just because no one who you know does this work doesn't mean no Canadian does. This is not an argument for the TFW program. If a company needs foreign unskillied labour, it is because they can't follow labour laws or pay market value.
Googling a quick history of the TFW program, it looks like it ballooned under Harper/Poilievre. They also brought in many of the unenforced regulations.

Sure does! Many utilities have been or are publicly owned. I don't have a problem with public ownership. An example is Alberta's healthcare system - the public facilities can provide certain surgeries at a fraction of private surgeries, yet the government insists private is better.

We skip steps all the time. Lots of people in management have never actually done the work they manage, it's deemed unnecessary.
I don't get how people don't realize that a technology that replaces junior and entry level positions in a field destroys that field. There's no skipping steps. You have to be a junior before you can be a senior, and if you don't have senior people, you don't have a field.

He's a Liberal, the equivalent to a US Democrat. Fortunately we have a parliamentary system, so now that our 'Trump', Poilievre, is back in Parliament he'll be more likely to work with the centrist Bloc Quebecois, New Democrat, and Green parliamentarians. We don't have elected left politicians.
I wish it were! Carney, Canada's Prime Minister has a PhD in Reaganomics and sounds really smart. He's been pushing for a 15% reduction in overall public spending, which includes a massive increase in military spending, over the next 3 years. I'd say he's going full DOGE.
