Can we agree that trans people are people that need rights, without making it the central issue in our campaign? Unfortunately equal rights for trans people aren’t everyone’s priority. I think Dems need to hit the GOP on crime, finance, and the deficit, without throwing LGBT under the bus.
Here's the thing. You need to counter punch in ways that shut them up. Trying to duck the issue will not work and is how you get the 2024. You need to engage on it in ways that also let you move to attack other things.
I think that’s what they want us to do. I’m in NC. They played the clip of Kamala saying every prisoner should have free gender affirming care and that Kamala wants men playing women’s sports 20 times an hour. She lost our state, while electing a democrat governor. Don’t abandon, not primary focus.
But it wasn't her primary focus. She stayed mostly silent except when backed into a corner. This let's them push the narrative and argue more and more biased and extreme things. You need to be able to turn it into an attack on them, every time.
