I really don't like to hate on things too much, but the disappointment of a sequel work that has brilliant stuff within it and sloppy narration that wastes time going in circles might just set me off after a rough morning at work. I listened to the last hour at 1.5x speed, and I seldom do above 1x.
If I wasn't so close to finishing- and so obsessive about not leaving media unfinished- I probably would've dropped it after the third chapter in a row featuring the same character think how they can't believe X was really Y all along and how disgusted they are with themselves- and nothing deeper!
It's got brilliant points and I'm invested in the overall enough but fuck, it became such a chore.
