I'd argue that the lack of discourse is more out of human nature, and the manufacturing of consent by Bourgeois forces, revocation of adequate education systems by big money lobbyists, and lead poisoning of populations by major corporations, than it is individuals faults in seeking dopamine.

It's habitual. Petty bickering over nothing gets incentivized over discourse on social media. This interaction is an example of the consequences, and it recapitulates my comment.
