Bernie Sanders in any other civilized nation on the planet would be a solid centrist. Only here is he a far left crazy socialist. If his common sense pro capitalist centrist ideas are too extreme for America we are doomed.

Agreed. He’s not technically a leftist. Any hint of true radical leftist energy has been ground out of the nation since the protest and power movements of the 60s scared the powers that be shitless.

That’s what’s so crazy about all the shrieking every time he runs. Even on the left. Seriously? We can’t tax billionaires to pay for healthcare and trains? That’s insane talk now?

I think you might find that a lot of centrist Democrats might have softened their opposition to such things now. I saw some soccer-mom Dems on YT who were exposing AIPAC recipients who are Dems, so…it gives me hope. 🙂

Truthfully I think the majority of the country is very open to his ideas. It’s the parties on both sides who are afraid to take on the oligarchs who fund their campaigns and make them wealthy.

I mostly mean that he believes in capitalism, he just doesn’t believe in allowing them to accumulate so much wealth their economic power rivals that of small nations. Which it currently does. He thinks the benefits of capitalism should accrue to society at large to pay for healthcare, education, etc

I agree with that too, but you don’t put yourself on a pedestal when you’re doing the same as others. That is my issue with Sanders. The reality is that Republicans have more wealthy political donors than Democrats - Independents even less.

Which pretty much tells us which vision of the US’s future is the favored one of global capital.

I don’t think he does put himself on a pedestal. There’s no way to run for political office in America without massive amounts of money. He has to have donations. He only takes money from individuals. That’s as good as this current political system gets. He does support publicly funded elections.

He HAS to. That's what pisses me off even more. Even the non greedy decisions are tainted because of money. They ALL are included in the very thing HE FOUGHT THE DEMS OVER... including the bernster😔 he'd be completely irrelivent in the era of money buys lawmakers, laws, govt contracts, etc
