They reviewed it as a red card offence and decided that Henderson did NOT deny an obvious goal scoring chance. They cannot instruct the referee to, retrospectively, issue a yellow card so the handball went unpunished. The only argument is whether it Was an obvious goal scoring opportunity

Why did the goalkeeper deliberately, cynically commit handball, if he didn't think it was goalscoring opportunity? There was no other reason for him to do it. VAR bottled it because it was a cup final. At the very least, VAR should have sent the referee to the monitor to review it himself.

It can be a goal scoring chance without it being a clear goal scoring opportunity. If even one of the requirements for DOGSO is missing then you don't have it.

It was a very clear goalscoring opportunity, which is why the goalkeeper deliberately handled it. It was the most obvious red card offence,

You don't have direction towards goal for the red card.

Only because the goalkeeper slapped the ball that way.
