Isak has to take some of the blame. You watch from the outside and ask “ why is their best player so pissed off, he wants to leave “?

Yes for sure ……. I gather it might have been a money thing. NUFC have a fairly rigid wage structure which in turn is constrained by PSR. Isak was being paid about £150k / week and the scousers were able to offer him something close to double that. We simply couldn’t without breaking PSR constraints
PSR isn’t so much an issue for us this summer/season though.
It would be if the wage bill had risen substantially. You couldn’t just up Isak’s wage and leave everyone else untouched. The costs would have been huge.
It is technically possible, you’d take wage from the transfer budget. Yes, it would be unfair to the other players and they could do the same and ask for more. But, yes, it wouldn’t work. Best to sell him and move on.
