The term "progressive" has been deliberately demonized by folks with lots of money and power. Progressive policies are popular with all voters.

I'm not a expert on the different shades of progressives I do go off of what people claim and if they say they are progressive and on the left, I take their word for it , the fact you dont like the fact they do and say things you disagree with is a internal issue, you still own it

While I like most progressive ideas, they R not popular with ALL voters. Not MAGA. & not with most Republicans. Republicans would use the words "socialist" or "communist" & most of the people from foreign countries will either not vote, or vote against them. Especially people from Latin countries.
