Meidas is just an example given, the general point is that the entire spectrum of the left needs to build up a media ecosystem to counter the one MAGA built for a decade. MAGA didn’t just have mainstream party-line Fox, but also other voices spanning a wide spectrum even further right.
I'll explain this point a bit further bc it seems you've thought critically about this & are rightly concerned about our media environment. I agree we can't let right wing media continue to dominate. But the reason they dominate is bc the Dem Party serves the same billionaire donor class as the GOP
and because of that, as you've probably noticed that Dems don't support universal heathcare, they tried to deport more people than the GOP, they give unequivocal support to Isreal, to the police state & all their solutions include "public-private" partnerships in which the donor class profits.
So when people see the Dems moving right on heathcare, immigration, the police state, on Israel's genocide of Palestinians & offer no public, good government solutions, people see they stand for nothing & vote GOP. We need to break the grip of capital on the Dem Party. That means real left media!
I am in full agreement with this. We may be engaging in some friendly fire. I'm just happy to see that the idea of intentionally building a robust left media ecosystem, is being discussed more openly & actively. For a while it kinda felt like no1 was talking about it, so this just makes me hopeful

That's *your* point. My point & the point of the left is that the Dem Party is nakedly corrupt & dependant on the same donor class as the GOP. Any media depending on them for their funding will also be corrupt. The problem is capitalism. We need socialist media to radicalize the working class.
I wasn't implying that anyone should depend on the same donor class. I've been encouraging the intentional growth of media outside of the MSM ownership/funding structure for months. I'm 100% for a socialist & left-leaning media ecosystem whose ownership and creation stays in the hands of the people
