I really want a potters wheel and a kiln but I know myself and know I’d just end up with a million shallow bowls and wouldn’t be able to offload them onto all my friends. This is why cross stitching is a good craft for me: it’s clean, takes forever, very small, very cheap, and they are just for me.
I don’t have a wheel or a kiln but managed to make so many pieces at our local studio I am massively behind on glazing and figuring out what the heck to do with the pieces… so… yeah.
Why is my favorite art so space-intensive?!
My pottery/art friend and I joke about how we need a little free pottery shed to put things out for people to take! I also started researching bulk/cheap succulents to put in pots and found a neat online thing. Another mom potter friend gives her (very good) work as teacher gifts.
My partner loves pottery making but has stopped because, well, it just makes too many objects and it's impossible to home them all.
She's currently gotten into hand spinning wool on a drop spindle to make yarn and THEN knitting sweaters with the yarn she made.
Farm-to-table but for knitting. Love it. I love a craft that keeps me busy!

Totally. At this point I only sew things for other people that I know they want/need. Same with knitting. The cross stitch is just for me (but I would part with some of it for a hefty sum, it’s a shit ton of work). But now I’m going to overwhelm friends and family with silly potholders.
I feel this so hard. Like I *know* I would make too many.
With that said, I have to start making potholders because I have way too much fucking fabric just sitting around.
