Being realistic is the main thing. I play basketball sometimes, but I'm not hating myself for not hitting every shot or not being able to do cool dunks. I figured out what I'm good at and work it while picking up new tricks.

Exactly. It's a form of play. The moment it becomes a chore to any person in the bed, there's something wrong. It's fine to be dramatic about it if everyone is acting in the same scene. It's not cool if anyone is pushing scenes on the others.
I'm a big fan of predetermined opt-out methods. Like, saying the name of any fruit is a hard stop. As long as people are having fun together it's good, but yea anything someone isn't comfy with should be a stop and maybe a conversation.
