I feel like most folks would just watch the movie trilogy, which I enjoy but suffers from horrible pacing issues due to being compressed for movie run times. You're getting all the Good Shit.

I watched the movies with the glorious VHS dub and yeah it felt like a slog early on Encounters In Space is the best one

I watched the movies and didn't notice the pacing issues, but I also didn't have anything to compare it to. Guess I should watch the actual show run next time.

Some of the character growth and plot elements are sped up quite a bit that can be kind of jarring for some folks. There are even a few characters that play a major role who basically get a lot of time trimmed off (Slegger Law in particular)

People who skip the tv show do themselves a disservice imo. Really I am in the camp that its the rare instance where both the show and the recap movies should be watched. The recap movies are just different enough and have their own significance.

I didn't even know about the movies and I can't imagine missing out on all the slow burn good shit the TV show has. I cannot get enough of how good this is
