"Give them time" "Come on, they inherited a massive mess from the Tories" "They do loads of good stuff that nobody's talking about" "The media are all against them, it's so unfair" "It's too early to judge" etc. Well, guess what... If you're a Labour apologist, YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM!

Well, it's a shame the bad that Labour are doing (re-immigration/asylum seekers) is massively over-shadowing whatever good they are doing.

My local #Labour MP is Mark Tami. His website is www.marktami.co.uk The front page has a "Latest News" section that was last updated in November 2020! The recommended way to follow him is via X or Facebook, both owned by extremist right wingers (won't use). He will be looking for my vote in 2029.

You're right, your post had zero useful content. It is obvious from your feed that you're incapable of recognising Labour's deep-seated issues, which makes you part of the problem and exactly the sort of person I was skewering.

Name one simple solution to the range of problems Labour inherited that doesn't have a horrendous side effect? Just one.

Very telling that David Dinsmore will be able to keep this period on his CV when applying for jobs in any other Right Wing Party.

I like how Brian here rolled through several of the ineffective labour bot defences “who do you want to run the country” and accusing someone of being right wing if they criticise labour… Labour are right wing. Labour are a nasty party and nobody with any morals is voting labour again.

I understand that feeling - it’s what my own heart says - but they will if they don’t see there’s a real alternative.

I’m surrounded by lovely deeply caring and socialist people who continue to cross their fingers for the shift right to reverse and cross fingers good stuff will triumph. I may think they should withdraw support now but they’re not people with no morals. Compromised yes. Frustrated & powerless tho.

Labour have made a few wrong decisions and I am hoping that they have realised their mistakes and we will see some better decisions in future. They must not allow themselves to be influenced by the rhetoric of Farage especially over the media fuelled issue of immigration.

That’s not true about those who are still trying to support and would vote Labour by any manner of means. And by your rationale every Labour mp is the same. You may disagree with why they do or why they stay in party but you can’t simply write them off like that.

Stew I do not believe Labour is perfect, far from it, but many of the members of the Labour Party are genuine in their belief that they want a better Britain and support Labour in the hope they will deliver on this. So the forthcoming conference should prove interesting.

Support with heavy hearts for many I think and for lack of feeling there’s a real alternative - or to keep Reform /Tory out - doesn’t mean they are happy. What will persuade them to rise up and demand better?

Good. Me neither. I used to want to talk nicely to these people, try and see why they have their opinions. That moment has passed. It’s too late now. There should be no quarter in debate towards people defending the indefensible.

Nobody. The perfect scenario is a hung parliament with the LibDems (and maybe the Greens, though the numbers would have to be very precise for them to hold the balance).

They’ve lost me, though I’ve never been a party ‘member’. But I was shocked recently to hear of a friend who’s been an activist for eons and stayed through thick and thin trying to change things from inside - has just resigned his membership and torn up his card. And he despised Blair…

What's your alternative government in 4 years? If not a Labour led government, if you want to stop Reform making us pay to use the NHS, who do you suggest we back?

Edwin Hayward @edwinhayward.com

Fun thing: you don't have to have a ready-made alternative to know something is wrong. I know Labour's current approach and attitude are inherently wrong. So even though I don't have a simple plan wrapped up ready to go with a pretty bow around it, that doesn't invalidate my criticism of Labour.

Kev Shaw @kevshaw99.bsky.social

The problem is there is an election in under 4 years. There will be a winner. Going out on a limb, I guess you don't want Farage to win. So that raises an obvious question. IMO the key is to stop fascism. I'll vote accordingly.

Ok, if you want my best scenario: a hung parliament with Labour absolutely dependent on the LibDems (and maybe also Greens) for power, ie the junior coalition can collapse the government any time they get taken for a ride. It's unlikely - I'm not deluding myself - but it's what I would like to see.
