Nobody was killed as a result of the meltdown, 0 were killed by the meltdown at Fukushima. The Soviet RBMK reactor which is what Chernobyl was aren't used anymore and didn't have any of the safety features western reactors have.
Don't you think wind and solar would be better infrastructure investments for clean energy?
It's part of the solution, but wind and solar alone due to their intermittency still require gas Peaker plants, while nuclear doesn't need those, generates more power than any other energy source, requiring very little land fewer raw materials generating power 99% of the time.
Is also a big part of decarbonizing the electric grid and especially for decarbonizing naval and merchant vessels. The solution to phasing out fossil fuels isn't renewables or nuclear it's both.
Just hearing the buzz words and getting scared instead of doing any research.
