I think the issue is that maybe it's easy to feel 'less' empathy for a millionaire losing their home vs an average citizen losing their home because we all know the former can easily replace the property they lost while the latter cannot.

Well you can't speed up the time it takes (years) spent as a Resident to build up enough experience to become an Attending physician. Regarding time spent in medical school: I think the bottle neck isn't in the speed of information delivery, it's in the students rate of knowledge retention.
