The availability issue is a factor, too. As of today, unless you're SEPARATELY laying out $30/month, Xfinity, Cox, and YouTube TV subscribers can't watch if they WANT to.

The ESPN app is thirty because thats their carriage fee. That's how much ESPN cost to have, and if you let people access the subscription part of that app , then they are subsidizing ESPN more. Not like Disney would throw that shit in for free.
