Denise attended No Kings protests and marched against ICE at a time when she had no guarantee that, citizen or not, she wouldn't get grabbed. She has nothing she has to do to justify herself. If you're making your money from covering wrestling, you cover both major companies and indies. Period.

Agreed. If people are rude or disrespectful, block and mute them. If they're inappropriate beyond a certain point, report them. The block, mute, and reporting tools seem to work well here. Use the lists @andy.wrestlejoy.com has provided as a starter and build who you want to communicate with.

Some of this came from Meltzer and Alvarez noting that buys for ALL IN worked fine, even with it being an afternoon show (ET). Part of it is them thinking AEW can get a jump on an obvious counter-programming PLE.

They're trying to cost AEW buys. The counter-move of having discounted PPVs on MAX may help lessen/counteract any loss of buys.

There is nothing wrong with a bit of capitalism with a positive message, particularly when it's what the performer actually feels. Same for Brodie King. Be careful not to make the perfect the enemy of the good.

WWE cable subscribers aren't paying that for PPVs when they had Peacock.
Another argument for starting early is that if ESPN Unlimited has bugs, better to find out now, than find out at Wrestlemania.
The availability issue is a factor, too. As of today, unless you're SEPARATELY laying out $30/month, Xfinity, Cox, and YouTube TV subscribers can't watch if they WANT to.

But this is how TKO thinks. If running NXT head-to-head plus SNME plus a women's PPV didn't work... then they're going to try a main roster PPV and hope ESPN promotion will help. But if they dont get systems like Xfinity, Cox, and YouTube TV cleared... people CAN'T order it unless they're (1/2)

Apparently they think the possibility of bringing back AJ Lee will get people to give up ALL OUT.
Here's the one problem, if unsolved by September 20, makes it a moot point: Xfinity still doesn't have an agreement with Xfinity. That's 31.8 million subscribers. Take them out of the equation, it won't matter if they bring back Bruno Sammartino back from the grave for Wrestlepalooza.

My brother made the interesting point that this is more or less a soft launch which they hope will hurt ALL OUT, but the real payoff is Wrestlemania 2026, when cable systems will all be signed up and kinks will be worked out.

Meltzer thinks ESPN will do an advertising barrage and that, together with the curiosity factor of it being the first PLE on ESPN will cause more casual fans to watch WWE's PLE. Alvarez disagrees and thinks AEW fans will buy ALL OUT, and watch WWE later on demand. The other factor is ESPN (1/2)
For the most part, its from trolls that are interested in taking shots at AEW using anything at all that has them not being WWE.

Competition is competition, which means ANYTHING on TV. It's the last weekend of summer, and the start of college football season. Give people a reason to watch and they will. There are about 250-300,000 of us sicko that will watch anything. But give thousands more a reason, too.

While they've sold out the residency (so attendance isn't an issue), viewership can be. This is the first Saturday of the college football season and they've got a shitload of competition (not to mention the last weekend of summer). That's why.
Haven't seen a price point yet, but I expect it's a discount..but not a massive one.
