Hank has been an anxious mess all day and I couldn’t figure out why. Then it occurred to me that the cicadas have been ridiculously loud today. Anyone else’s dogs hate the sound of cicadas? In the back yard he’s running around barking at nothing.

Rusty forgets that he's made peace with things like cicadas, floor fans, and trash bins. Takes him a couple weeks to remember every year 😂

I just figured out what my two crazies have been doing. They and particularly the female have been digging like crazy and tasting the dirt. I thought WTF? Mineral deficiency? No. They are digging the cicadas out and trying to eat them. 🤮

We don’t have cicadas here but our vet recently told me when I said our doodle seemed extra anxious: “you know the squirrels and birds outside getting ready for winter? Yeah he can hear all of that”

He seems ok inside if I have the doors shut. All day I’ve had doors/windows open bc it’s been so nice
