Gamers, any good co-op games I could introduce my wife to? 🎮 She’s not much of a gamer, not even casually. And she can NOT play a game where she has to control the camera!

Mario Kart 8 if you can. It has an auto drive mode
Cannot believe nobody has said Overcooked yet. So much fun, and they get invested quite fast because controls are super simple but the game’s fun is in coordination and yelling instructions at each other
That sounds really fun 😂
I was gonna mention this one, however we call it divorce simulator 😆 It is a fun co-op though.
Play Return of the Obra Dinn and solve the story together! That’s a lot of fun to do together
It takes two
It Takes two is a pretty good one with low consequences
Little big planet.
I believe there’s no camera controls, it stays centered on your sack pals.
Stardew?
Stardew Valley? It's cute. Oh, not co-op. Sorry.
No worries! Maybe I’ll just try it lol
It is co-op idk why they thought it wasn't. Maybe they play on mobile, which doesn't have co-op.
Because I forget most things on a daily schedule. Not the bad things that distress me... Just the useful bits...
Thanks! That looks pretty casual
Castle crashers Stick fight Bro force
I loath to propose it due to the stunt they did, but maybe Fantasy Life I: The Girl Who Steal Time? Although I don't know if it has camera control. Why I loath to suggest it is because after many delays, they finally made it non-Switch exclusive, increased the price, and adding insult to injury, no
physical copy in the West and other platforms can get early release(a few days), but not us, who have been waiting years since the initial reveal.
Actually I don't mind they made it non-exclusive, but it does seem to be the reason why the price increased, and that every other platform can get it early. Since it digital only, I'll wait for it to get a discount.
I vote for Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. It’s shamelessly simple, but that just makes it more fun. Just good ol’ arcade hack n slash dungeon crawling. Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance is a bit more complex take on the same general gameplay. It’s the better game but it’s got more going on in it, y’know
It Takes Two, Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing New Horizons.
I’m showing my age here…how about any of the Streets of Rage games? They’re pretty mindless games, but they can be funny with two players
Streets of Rage 4, from just a few years ago, is fantastic I’d also recommend Raging Blasters.
Sonic Superstars
Thanks! I haven’t played it. How does the coop work? Could a non-gamer keep up and enjoy?
I think so because how it works is you share a screen and if one player gets left behind the camera will pan to the one further ahead and the other player can press a button and be brought back up and you'll be back together
Little Big Planet. Simple and adorable.
I actually have this one. Didn’t think of that. She’s might enjoy it
Hope she does!
Any Lego game… they all slap in their own way, but they do get old playing them back to back
My wife really likes to play stardew valley coop. Not co-op, but baba is you is a puzzle game that my wife and I sit and play too (we actually played it before we started dating). Simulator games might be okay? They are low stakes enough. I like playing power washing simulator.
Thanks! I’ll see if any of those interest her
Crash tag team racing Fighting games Lego games Rayman legends
Nice! Those might be good ones!
It takes two Brothers a tale of two sons Key We Tiny Brains All good co-op games.
Thank you! I’ll check those out
Big ups for takes two
Overcooked games are a big co-op hit here. Solid relationship/communication test too 🤣
Awesome! I’ll check it out
It Takes Two for sure. But recently we got our son Monster Jam Showdown 2024 that has split screen. And you can modify controls based on experience. Super basic 101 controls all you have to do is hold down the throttle. And can build from there! It's really fun!
Don't Starve Together
Never heard of that? Whats it about?
Don't Starve as a survival game. Give me the co-op version called Don't Starve together. You basically try to survive on an island with limited resources, especially the night. As time goes on, things get weirder and more dangerous. Dying is part of learning how to survive. It's fun.
The amount of times me and my friend died. Haha 🙈 Fun game tho.
An alternative I’ve done that we had a blast with was the TellTale games. I would control them and she would make all the choices. Had so much fun playing Wolf Among Us like that.
If you have a switch - some of the newer Kirby games are co-op and any of the Yoshi games. Stardew is great co-op. Then the obvious Minecraft if you want to get her started in learning how to use camera controls. Once she gets a hang of that the world of co-ops expands.
Tools Up! It’s like Overcooked but less intense imo.
