There is so much nuance in gender fluidity. So many layers. I wonder, why is important to accept those nuances in each of us (and it is), but maybe not as important to accept the nuances in how the hormones we’ve grown up with affect our ability in sports, especially at the adult level?

I would like to point out to you that these exact same arguments have also been levied at black women athletes like the Williams sisters. When you weaponize testosterone levels against any women athlete, you allow it be used against all women athletes.

I think Newsom was trying to address those nuances that are hard to talk about because trans rights are so important, but also, humans who have a testosterone advantage cannot compete with humans who do not in certain sports (like wrestling) but may be perfect fair in others. There is nuance

No. Trans rights are human rights, and I will not willing sacrifice anyone’s human rights for my own comfort. Newsom needs to do better.

Trans rights are human rights. And as messed up as it was that they took that argument and held it against a human born a women, we are not talking about the reverse of trans men playing in men’s sports because is almost not possible. There is nuance here whether it easy to explain it or not.
