If you're serious that this happens to you often and the pain is "I need pain relief" bad but OTC pain killers don't help, you might want to see a spine specialist about an MRI. I ended up needing two discs surgically removed to make the pain stop.

It's thankfully not that serious and has a lot to do with the amount of movement my partner and cats do in my bed during the course of the night; both easily remedied by me leaving the bed for a different rest location lol
Glad it's not serious! I'm just primed to think of that every time I see someone talking about neck or back pain. HAVE YOU HEARD THE BAD NEWS ABOUT YOUR OVERLORD AND UNSAVIOR SPINAL DISC HERNIATION? Etc.
