The only way to make it happen short of war (which I don't want) is meaningful international pressure--leveraging aid and arms exports obviously but also trade relations. Israel is very dependent on its economic connections to the West
Israel should become a pariah state unless it abandons the occupation.
Yeah, I agree with you there. It's just that the West has been historically very bad at this kind of pressure, & such an effort now would not be led by the US. It's true that if a number of specific circumstances changed, a solution could come about, but hard to predict what actually will change.
I'm not saying it's a likely outcome but like, without external pressure there will be no solution at all.
Yeah, ig what's so agonizing about it is that the status quo has been intolerable for a long time, and the only way it's recently been shaken is through devastating destruction and murder, so it's like. I'd love to think there could emerge an alliance of real int'l pressure to see some changes.
I just don't know if it will happen.
