Also it feels like Under the Skin was partly inspired by Ted Bundy. First because of the picking someone up in a van but also the ending. I can’t say more.

Bundy didn’t use a van, just a bug with the seat removed. He was directly referenced in Silence of the Lambs, where Gumb’s plaster cast/feigned injury allows him to get the victim in the back of his (similarly) light/grey colored van. So there’s connective tissue there perhaps.
