The play uses reverse chronology to tell the story of a love triangle, starting with the aftermath and working backward to the affair’s beginning.
Writers Peter Mehlman and David Mandel borrowed this structure, crafting a hilarious Seinfeld take where Jerry, George, and Elaine’s trip to an Indian wedding unravels in reverse, complete with Pinter-inspired plot points like Jerry sleeping with George’s girlfriend, Nina.
They even named the groom Pinter Ranawat as a nod to the playwright.
