It kinda dangerous IMO when he makes these hollow boasts but prices keep rising and demand shrinks. It widens the disconnect between claims of ‘victory’ and economic reality

The only thing that matters to him are the optics. It LOOKS like he is being tough on foreign countries, and that is enough. The reality, that is is making things worse, is not a part of the story. He will just lie and say things are great, just like he lied and said there were deals waiting.
