Interesting question but difficult obviously to measure the drop as a result of trade negotiations versus a drop that would normally occur after the honeymoon.

Possibly, but I would say it started the moment he became reality instead of theory-the day he began to govern. The day the deal is done, regardless of whether it is a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ deal, will only accelerate the process.

In fact, Carney‘s popularity has *increased* since he was elected, so we are still most definitely in the honeymoon period. Trudeau‘s lasted almost two years. Alex‘s assumption is that it will end as soon as a Trump deal is a reality, after which popularity will decline
