Not if we sign a left-winger before the deadline... (and, if we don't, I expect Frank will continue to set up a little differently from game to game, with Xavi featuring at AM, LW and sometimes on the right)

Am feeling quietly annoyed that we spent £40m (including loan fee) on a LW and people are both a) saying “He’s only 20, he will no doubt transform into a good player” and, at the same time, b) “We need a LW”. We also bought a LW last year for £30m. Apparently he’s not ready for the 1st team either!
Thing is, he’s not a natural LW. He’s a second striker who we hope can develop in other positions. I don’t know what his strongest role will be but he’s not currently ready to start in any position on a regular basis.
Mad that we spent £40m on player whose abilities and progress are at the academy level. I am 100% sure that if he’d shown what he had and was an academy player (rather than £40m buy from Bayern Munich) ppl would be more than happy to send him to the Championship on loan.
Also I don’t see either the guile or the composure in front of goal of a second striker. But who knows? Not seen anything that positive yet so we’ll have to see I guess (I genuinely would loan him out tbh but then again I’d not have signed him at all this summer).
I think, if we bring in another forward, he’ll be loaned out. Feels pretty clear he’s below Odobert in the pecking order on the left. Only thing that might change that is he can, theoretically, cover CF
With regards to Tel we live very much in hope! Silly bloody signing. Not as bad as Werner but we again signed a player who instantly became one of the first that we need to upgrade on!
