We're constantly told there's no room for sentiment in football. Perhaps not. But if it were up to me, I'd bring Dele back in a heartbeat, even if it's just as a supportive place to keep fit. Get him involved with the young players - they'd get so much out of it.

I'd love Dele to come back to Spurs and just try to regain his love of playing football. He had his happiest times on a football pitch at Spurs and I'd love it if Spurs could help him in any way. Even if he never ended up playing, I think the Club could help him with his mental health

Whatever Dele needs. Sentimental or not.

We should give him a pay a you play contract. His first match back even just on the bench would have the stadium chanting "we've got Alli" you never know it might help him with what ever demons he's battling.

I can't see how it could do him or us any harm to have him at the club training with the first team, even if it was clear it would never be anything more than that. We keep hearing about the 'Spurs Family', if such a thing exists, he's part of it and deserves to be brought into its warm embrace.

That is truly not how anything works at a professional football club

Perhaps not - although it should. That being said there have been various occasions when players have been given the opportunity (usually by an ex club) to come along and train at the club for a period of time to keep their fitness up ready for a new opportunity.

Not with the firsts. And honestly, as much as I wish him well, none of us know the head space he’s in. Training with kids or stiffs is not good for the ego, and does he want to be reminded of what he had? Honestly this is more fan based wistfulness than it is anything else

No problem with him training with us to stay fit but he’s never going to be a top player ever again. Clearly something broke in him around 2020. Never been anywhere near the player he was until then.

I've seen various things written about him, but the bottom line is, in a relatively short space of time, he was one of our very best players and he has stats which put him ahead of an enormous number of huge players in Spurs history. I just hope he gets what he wants from the rest of his career.

He was. I think he lost his love of the game sadly.

I suspect there is more than a small element of this. I worried when he seemed to be spending more time doing promotional work than focussing on football and whether the two were linked or coincidental, that was when things started to slip. But it's not a unique story. What we do now know, though,

is that he seemingly went through more than most when he was growing up & those of us who haven't experienced that can't begin to understand how that affects a person. Either way, I have the fondest of memories of Dele & if he can't re-find his passion for football then I hope he finds a new path.

Doesn’t have to be training with the first team. Frank may not want that.

I don't know if he'd find it demeaning to be put with the youth players. But I remember when we even let David Beckham come and train with us. However it's organised, within reason/without causing disruption to Frank and the 1st team I hope the club would make him welcome if he wanted it.

I bet Spurs fans would crowd fund his wages (not that Spurs can’t pay them themselves)

I want my club to look at his situation and think: 'we should do whatever it takes to support that young man'.
