You can see this was not the first strike on the plant. Ukraine is not just doing one and done attacks. These are strategic missions with clearly defined targets and goals. They mean to shut down Russian economy and capacity to wage war. This is conceivable because their economy is so fragile.
No military works without fuel. In WW2 the American submarines were positioned to sink the Japanese oil tankships coming from the south because that was the one resource Japan couldn't do without. Ukraine does the same, and it will work.
