I'm operating in completely good faith, I'm asking very specific questions that outline that you have no answers for the larger questions as to why centrists exist and want to boil it down to something simple and easily digestible that fits your predetermined feelings.

I think it's politicians beholden to focus group brain and consultant brain in service of their own ambition which can be PARTIALLY ATTRIBUTED to where the money is at fundraising time. But the incentives are much more widely distributed and complex than just donations.
