They're either Progessive or they're not. People are sick of the status quo leftover from the Reagan Era Dems, i.e. New Democrats... who for 45 yrs have enabled the Republicans in their endeavours to get the US to where it is at this moment in history.

Blue Dog coalition sounds a lot like the New Dems that came into being in the 1990's who claimed to have progressive policies, which turned out to be more nonsense from a bunch of neoliberals.
I can’t really deny she is a solid representation of what people sound like in my district. We are a no income tax state and my city is a cross the river from a no sales tax state. Left libertarians.
The New dems now are just progressives who only might be more likely to support Israel and Reparations to black people.
My rep says she voted with democrats for 8/10 things but she is also probably rightfully upset that she doesnt have much control over what gets brought to the floor. And i mostly just want her to say sorry for save act vote and not do it again…
I think my rep is the first Blue Dog leader that is on the equality caucus.
She is to the left of nearly all 90’s democrats for that reason.
But yeah in spirit and tone? Yeah she has 90’s vibes. But she is not much older than me. I like her writing more than her votes.
What kind of candidates are winning statewide in purple and red states? Whitmer Bashear Shapiro Kelly Galleago Etc. The evidence is not aligned with what is in lefty Bluesky hearts. Median voter theory is aligned with the evidence.

How can someone be a winner if they want my ability to vote gone for not having access to my birth certificate and demanding I get a new one and demanding that my ID be presented and that ID also costs money: and she ran on protecting mail in voting. This isn’t that.

Im focused on allowing as many eligible people as can vote to vote as my red line in the sand for going against it. Im more mad at this and I can try to defend otherwise. But I can’t defend someone who disrespected my vote as easily…
Gallego & Kelly are my state senators.They won bc they ran unopposed.They were the only choices for voters like me who would never vote GOP & for who not voting is not an option.This is a common problem for Dem voters when we have little choice.They suck & I hope they get primaried.They're GOP-lite

People who don’t vote every time on purpose are swing voters and have the same outcome as centrists. I am capable of voting between two republicans because Im in a top two get the nomination state with a not partisan primary. My bitterness stems from well… there being a strategy for dems to win.
Not even guaranteed to have a democratic option where I live. Washington district 4 had a 2 republican general in 2024. The democrats did not make the general.
Sydney, Arizona voted for Trump like my district voted for Trump. But my district voted for Trump 3 times….You need to face reality. I think Kelly and Gallego are fine. And my rep provably does get 5% republican voters. And there is a similar amount of democrats who swing right where I live

I never said they weren't better than the GOP alternative. I said that I always vote Dem rather than not vote. I was very clear about this. But this doesn't mean I have to like the choices on the ballot. Gallego ran unopposed in the AZ Dem primary. Kelly ran uncontested in the AZ Dem primary.
