Stranger Things season 4 came out in 2022. Season 5 is coming out in late 2025. My daughter was 12. She'll be 15. This is not a sustainable release schedule for television.

The bigger insult is when seasons only end up being 6-8 episodes with several year delays.
It was supposed to come out this year. Was supposed to start filming in May 2023 but got delayed due to the writers strike. I know it’s a long delay but it will be worth it!
Especially with kids as the main characters, they are going to have to reschedule their bike riding adventures to get their colon cancer screenings if it goes another season.
I kind of think the numbers aren’t going to be great. Like maybe I’ll be wrong, but people stop caring after long enough. I guess on the bright side, my kid can probably watch season 4 now since 7 was not it with some of the Vecna stuff.
I agree. I'm one of those people who don't care anymore. It's just too long between seasons. I was super hyped & thought it was the best thing ever. Unfortunately, this is also going to apply to Star Trek : Strange New Worlds too.
Yeah. I’m pretty sure the only reason I’ll watch it when it comes out instead of whenever I get around to it is if they market it enough that the ten year old cares.
Since this show debuted,I had gotten married (a year after It came out), divorced, and moved twice. I’ve literally been through a lifetime since this show came out
Oh and it's only Part 1. Eleven bout to be like, Thirty-Three
This show started when she was 6. Unreal.
You know, it seems odd to us…but one look at British TV releases would disagree. Maybe there’s some merit there.
To clarify I obviously love a lot of British television but they're not quite the same "kind" of television to me. None of these shows can afford to have the kind of lower stakes episodes that makes television television to me, they're all season finales, I guess.
But less flippantly, I hate the bloat of modern television. They're all badly made movies at this point. Billion dollars in effects, episodes twice a decade.
Interesting take. I’m not willing to go that far, I still think there’s a lot of good TV. But, there’s also plenty of mediocre mixed in.
What makes it worse is its in two parts too.
