She said, not prepared to criticise Farage for anything. There was dismissive criticism and defending of ECHR. Fair opinion to say not strong enough. But the headline post is just misleading.

This report differs quite markedly from the one on BBC news, in which Gov Spox pushed back hard against Farage's idiot ideas.
The response yesterday was mostly along the lines that the Farage plan to deal with immigration was 'unserious' & uncosted. Given the opportunity to say the opposed Farage's 'invasion' & 'national civil unrest' rhetoric the spox refused to do so.
It reads like parody, doesn't it?
How easy it would have been to say Farage was the one stoking up civil disorder, but there's no way this government is going to let it break down That while he's trying to stoke division between us they are going to maintain order and get on with the real job of getting the country back on it's feet
That is more or less what the Lab spox did say on BBC news. And Ed Davey reminded viewers that it is Farage's Brexit that prevents us from being able to insist on returning people to France.
I wasn't complaining about Ed Davey by the way. Unlike the Govt he has the balls to call Farage out.
That was our EU negotiator Thomas Symonds said this morning. Not what the No 10 spokesperson said in a request for a response about whether the Govt opposed Farage's rhetoric yesterday. The only logical explanation is that they read my Bluesky post yesterday & took note They should hire me for comms
Thomas Symonds seems to be a good guy, and Labour finally seem to be waking up to the fact that taking on Farage over Europe is a winning strategy. Farage seems to think so too according to this. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
Also when asked if they supported Farage's plan to take Afghani refugees back the Spox response was to say 'we won't take anything off the table'. Quite incredible as well as disgraceful. And shows just how much they're being led by Farage than the British public. bsky.app/profile/samf...
