Bradley says she is retiring because being on the court is not "the best path to rebuild the conservative movement," which feels like quite a thing to say outloud as a sitting judge. (Though not surprising.)

Heh, she gonna try to run for governor?
Wondering if she’s wondering if fascism is not the best path to rebuild the conservative movement. Cus conservatives are quite far along rebuilding the conservative movement with fascism and a side of authoritarianism.
Exactly. Seems the “conservative movement” has a lot of momentum ….
"I do not want the stink of being a loser on me."
She raised 0 dollars for her campaign. Thats why she’s retiring. Girl, bye!😘
😂👍
Seriously, she raised $0 dollars. What an embarrassment. And she thinks she can rebuild anything from another perch. bsky.app/profile/the-...
Such a fascinating $hit storm we’re watching.
Living it here in WI, sad to say.
Is she planning to join ICE?
So she admits to violating her oath of office. Don’t wait for her to retire, she must be removed from office asap.
And RIGHT AFTER that in the article she complains about judicial activism: Bradley said her warnings about the court being controlled by “judicial activists” went unheeded Wow
In the same paragraph where she says the court has become too partisan, now that takes something.
That's the Wisconsin GOP for you.
Probably easiest to replace “conservative” with “corrupt” when speaking about conservative politicians.
Her impartiality is impeccable!
Especially with the associated label of “conservative firebrand”…
B-b-b-but balls and strikes!
Bradley will get an appointment to the 7th Circuit, mark my words.
Ugh. Sadly, you’re probably right.
There might not be a vacancy on the 7th Circuit in the near future. Judge Sykes is retiring, but Trump has already nominated a different replacement. The only other judge over 65 is Judge Easterbrook, and I doubt he wants Trump to replace him. (Also, Easterbrook is in a Chicago seat.)
Well, let’s hope so…
Easterbrook must be ancient. I argued before him in the 80s (twice)
He's only 76! (He was appointed when he was 36.)
PS I got his vote both times, arguing for government and a union.
Impressive!
Wow I knew he was young, but ….
For those who are new to the Wisconsin supreme court, a reminder of the high-profile race that liberals won in April: boltsmag.org/wisconsin-su...
I know specials haven't been great for Rs in the Trump Era but this still seems odd she wouldn't go for it. If Ds win that race, the earliest Rs could get the court back is 2030.
She saw the writing on the wall and decided a nasty campaign only to lose by 12 points wasn't worth it.
Ernst wouldn't have lost by 12. The race was Likely R, maybe Lean R. Wave environment? Maybe a toss up. It's an uphill battle for Ds.
Ok, but we are talking about Wisconsin Supreme Court where the Liberals have won the last 2 races by 11 points.
Maybe Bradley would've lost by that much. Maybe she thought she would. She's still an incumbent and Rs won a race there a few years ago. Take nothing for granted.
You don’t know how bad things can get. Once people can’t get their meds we’ll see some shit.
Different race - the 12 is WI Supreme Court, not IA senate. But even for Ernst, she could be worried about losing by a similar magnitude. She won in 2020 by 7 but just saw a 20 point swing in an IA state senate special election in a formerly red district.
Jk was a 24 point swing. Not just 20
What a way to just admit she’s not an unbiased, fair jurist.
